Apple Pro and Tell Event: What to Expect From the Final Launch of the Year

Apple has maintained an active autumn schedule through the releases of the iPhone Duo, HomeView smart hub, and M5 Ultra Mac Studio, yet the final showcase of the year may eclipse them all. This concluding event, titled Pro and Tell, brings forth a wave of hardware announcements that span multiple product lines.

Pro and Tell Event: What we expect

The marquee announcement centers on a completely redesigned MacBook Pro that introduces a touchscreen MacBook Pro to the lineup after years of corporate denials. Current reports indicate this model features a lighter chassis, the Dynamic Island interface, an OLED display, and a substantial price tag. Alongside this major redesign, the entry-level MacBook Pro is expected to receive its routine annual processor refresh featuring the M6 chip.

The desktop space receives attention through the introduction of the M6 iMac, which incorporates the new silicon architecture debuted in the Mac mini last month, potentially alongside new color options. Meanwhile, the iPad mini appears in this launch window with expectations for a major overhaul, including an upgraded processor, an OLED display, and a refreshed physical design.

When Apple released the iPad in 2010, Steve Jobs explained why adding a touchscreen to existing laptops was ergonomically flawed, noting that vertical touch surfaces cause arm fatigue over extended periods. To address this historical hesitation, Mark Gurman reports that Apple will market the new touchscreen capability as an optional feature rather than a core interaction model, echoing the approach previously taken with the Touch Bar.

The rollout of these devices may span multiple days rather than occurring in a single presentation block, with speculation pointing toward staggered announcements across the week. Observers should also note that Apple will not host a traditional keynote address for this showcase, despite inviting influencers and media members to a Wednesday experience event in Los Angeles at 1 PM ET. Instead, the hardware reveals will arrive through a series of press releases and website updates throughout the week as the Pro and Tell event unfolds.
