Apple has released impressive quarterly results following a busy period, heading into what is expected to be a stellar holiday quarter. For the quarter ending September 30, Apple posted record revenue of $114.5 billion, marking a 12 percent increase over the same period last year. According to CEO John Ternus, this performance delivered a massive close to the company’s best fiscal year ever.
Record Quarterly Results and Overall Financial Performance
The stellar financial figures for the quarter ending September 30 underline sustained momentum across Apple’s business segments. CEO John Ternus highlighted the period as a successful conclusion to a historic fiscal year, driven by strong underlying demand before the launch of several newer smart-home displays, touch-screen laptops, and folding devices.
Hardware Highlights: iPhone and Mac Surge While Wearables and iPads Dip
Hardware performance varied significantly across product categories during the quarter. Leading the way as expected was the iPhone, boosted by the launch of the iPhone 18 Pro. Apple posted $57.5 billion in iPhone revenue compared to $49 billion in the previous year, representing a 17 percent increase. This total includes roughly two weeks of iPhone 18 Pro preorders and sales, though it does not account for any iPhone Duo orders, which launched later on October 16.
The Mac lineup also experienced exceptional growth, buoyed by the introduction of the M6 Mac mini and M5 Ultra Mac Studio. Apple recorded a strong 25 percent year-over-year increase in Mac earnings, reaching $10.8 billion. Ternus noted that Apple has never sold more Macs in a single fiscal year, setting a positive trajectory for upcoming holiday releases like the M6 iMac, MacBook Pro, and the PROLED XDR MacBook.
In contrast, other hardware lines faced downward adjustments:
- Wearable, Home, and Accessories: Sales declined by about 8 percent year-over-year, despite the market arrival of the Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4.
- iPad: Revenue posted an 11 percent decline, though upcoming updates such as the OLED iPad mini aim to stabilize the category moving forward.
Services Milestone and Outlook for the Holiday Quarter
Beyond hardware, Apple’s Services category achieved a notable financial milestone, topping $30 billion in revenue for the first time on growth of approximately 10 percent. This ongoing expansion reinforces the company’s diversified revenue streams as it heads into the busy holiday shopping season.
Apple scheduled a conference call at 5 pm ET to discuss the quarterly results and outline the strategic road ahead for fiscal 2027.
